The City of Franklin, located in Warren County, Ohio, is accepting resumes for the position of Director of Finance. This position plays a significant role as a member of the City’s senior management team and reports directly to the City Manager. Responsibilities include overseeing all financial reporting, investing, accounting, purchasing, payroll and budgeting functions of the City. Serves as financial advisor to the City Council and City administration. Successful candidate must possess initiative; strong leadership, management and interpersonal skills; solid written and oral communications skills; and the ability to work well with the public and all levels of internal staff. Must possess experience in municipal finance administration including experience in preparation of annual operating, capital, and tax budgets; preparation and coordination of information for external audits; and preparation of Comprehensive Annual Financial Reports (CAFR) and Certificates of Estimated Resources (CER). Some knowledge of municipal tax collection operations preferred.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a comparable municipal finance department or equivalent with supervisory experience preferred. Extensive knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and accounting practices for governmental funds; and a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field required.
