Memorial Day Parade

The City of Franklin will host The Jim Mears Memorial Day Parade on Monday, May 27, 2024 at 10 AM.

Jim Mears passed in 2023. He served the City of Franklin on many boards and commissions including City Council and as Mayor. He was a proud Army veteran and was dedicated to honoring and serving his fellow veterans. The Memorial Day parade in Franklin was organized and executed by Jim for over 45 years before his passing. The City of Franklin is undoubtedly a better place because of Jim's passionate service to our community. For these reasons, from the years 2024 to 2034, the Memorial Day Parade shall be known as The Jim Mears Memorial Day Parade.  parade watchers

Those wishing to participate in the parade can contact Holly Daniels at 937-743-1379 or HDaniels@FranklinCitySchools.com. As this is a memorial parade, we ask that no candy or information/flyers be handed out during the parade. American Flags are the only item to be distributed during the parade.

The parade will start on Main Street at Franklin Yards, travel down Main to Sixth, turn left onto Sixth, right onto River, then right on Third as it ends with a ceremony at the corner of Third & Main.

There is construction occurring on Main Street, so please use caution when walking throughout downtown.
