Chief of Fire & EMS

Jonathan M. Westendorf has been with the City of Franklin since September 18, 2000.  Since that time the fire division has significantly expanded the service levels offered to the community.  The fire division now staffs a crew of 9 cross trained Firefighter EMT/Paramedics that deliver Fire, Ambulance and Rescue services to the Franklin community 24-hours a day, 7-days a week.

Chief Westendorf serves on several boards, some including:

  • Ohio Fire Chiefs' Association, 1st Vice-President (Executive Board of Directors)
    • Committees Include Legislative (Chair), Publications, Conference & Volunteer Firefighters
  • The Warren County Fire Chiefs' Association
  • Warren County Council of Governments
  • Greater Cincinnati Hazardous Materials Unit, Vice-President (Board of Directors)

Chief Westendorf holds a Bachelor of Science in Fire Administration through Bowling Green State University, a Master of Public Administration through the University of Southern California, and is pursing a Doctor of Public Administration through West Chester University in Pennsylvania.  He is also a member of the Franklin-Springboro-Carlisle Rotary Club, the Franklin Area Chamber of Commerce and serves as the staff liaison to the City of Franklin Special Events Committee.
