City Council
Regular meetings of the City Council are held on the first and third Monday of each month, beginning at 6:00 p.m., in the Council Chambers at the Franklin Municipal Building, 1 Benjamin Franklin Way. If a holiday falls on a scheduled meeting date, the meeting is automatically cancelled. Please click on the Meetings tab below for more information.
Council Committees
Each Committee is composed of three members of Council, who are appointed for a one-year term. Each member of Council serves as Chair of one Committee and also serves upon one or two other Committees, as appointed.

Welcome to Franklin and thank you for visiting our website. We know you will love what you see!
We pride ourselves in harboring a feeling of “Community.” Whether you live in Franklin or not, when you stop by, you will feel right at home.
We have a quaint downtown with some amazing sight-seeing. Nearly 15 years ago, the City Council created a mural program designed to attract visitors and build community pride... and it worked. Today, we have 11 murals (8 outdoor and 3 indoor). Two of our murals have been recognized as National Municipal Mural Award Winners!! Not only are we proud of our murals themselves, but they were painted by one of our very own residents, Eric Henn.
In these continued efforts of preserving and promoting our downtown, we recently created a 501c3 non-profit group called Forever Franklin who’s sole devotion is downtown preservation. This organization is broken into four focus committees: Organization, Design, Economic Vitality, and Promotion.

With a community of over 12,000 people, we provide top-notch emergency services with administrative amenities. We constantly promote new development and keep a very high retention-rate for our current businesses. We are innovative in our approach to development, such as being the first Industrial Park in the state of Ohio to be fully fiber-ready through AT&T. We lead the way in many areas while never forgetting our past.
The borders of our Community are easy to find. Our eastern border is I-75 which provides ideal access for our industrial partners, retail businesses, and residents. Our western border is graced by the flowing sights and sounds of the Great Miami River. Our river banks are adorned by beautiful riverside mansions, an elegant fountain, and a modern and award-winning bike path and jogging trail that connects the entire north/south length of our city. The western portion of our community is home to our famous Lions Bridge and Harding Museum (home of our Franklin Area Historical Society). The Franklin Area Historic Society is one of our many community partners.
Our steadfast relationship with the Franklin City School District shines in the out pour of community pride. Our slogan, which you will hear often, is: “Once a Wildcat…Always a Wildcat.” Our School Board is recognized for their fiscally-conservative nature and has earned the respect of our citizens, parents, and business community.

We can go on a Mural Tour together, grab an ice cream downtown, visit one of our many eateries, or just go site-seeing along the Great Miami River. Oh, and bring your camera…you will need it!
