Main Street Streetscape
4/15/2024: The intersection of Third and Main will be closed on Tuesday, April 16 and will remain closed for at least three days. The alleyways remain open and are the best routes for access and public parking. We thank you for your patience and encourage continued patronage at impacted businesses during this phase of transition.
4/5/2024: As of today, Sixth Street at Main Street will be open to through traffic. Main Street will remain closed from Sixth to Fourth. Crews will be working on Saturday, April 6 to set up curb between Fifth and Sixth Streets.
On Monday, April 8, Main Street between Fourth and Third Streets will be closed. The sidewalks and intersections will remain open at this time. Please use caution when traveling in the area and thank you for your patience as these upgrades continue.
2/27/2024: The westbound lane of Sixth Street at Main will be closed beginning on Thursday, February 29. This closure is estimated to last approximately 2 weeks. Please use caution and utilize Fourth Street to access addresses along River Street.
2/6/2024: The intersection of Fourth and River is currently closed. There is one lane open south bound on River Street for through traffic. Please use caution when in the area.
2/2/2024: Fourth Street, including the intersection at Fourth and Main, is now open. Please note that the traffic signal at Fourth and Main has been removed. Motorists should adhere to the stops signs placed on Fourth Street at Main. On street parking is limited.
1/29/2024: This week, crews will be working along Second Street at the intersections of Riley Blvd, Main Street, and River Street during evening hours. Flaggers will be on site to direct traffic. Please use caution when in the area.
1/25/2024: Due to weather delays, the intersection of 5th and Main will be closed starting on Monday, January 29, 2024.
1/18/2024: On Monday January 22, 2024, the intersection of 5th and Main will be closed as water main replacement continues. Weather may have an impact on anticipated dates. We will receive more information with updated timelines on Monday. We thank you for your patience and encourage continued patronage at impacted businesses during this phase of transition.
12/21/2023: Main Street currently has one lane open through 4th Street, and will remain open throughout the weekend, until early Tuesday morning.

12/18/2023: Main Street, between 4th & 5th Streets, is closed with an anticipated re-opening in late January. The alley ways remain open and are the best routes for access and public parking. 12/11/2023: Fourth Street, from Riley to River, is closed until further notice. Benjamin Franklin Way is open at 3rd Street, and closes at 4th. The alleyway next to the Food Truck Park is open at 5th, but also closes at 4th. Thank you for your patience as we work toward revitalizing our downtown community.
11/29/23: On Monday, December 4th, Main Street, from Sixth to Fourth, will be open to local traffic only. The intersection at Fourth and Main will be closed. Sixth Street, Fifth Street, and the alley way behind the VFW will remain open at this time.
These closures will last for several weeks and will change frequently. Thank you for your patience as we work toward revitalizing our downtown community.
11/7/23: Downtown residents and businesses are invited to an informal meeting with the Main Street Streetscape contractor on Thursday, November 9th at 1:00pm. This meeting will take place outdoors, at the corner of Fourth and Main. Participants are welcome to ask questions about the upcoming road closures and work that begins on November 13th.At this time, it is anticipated that Fourth Street between Main & River will be closed from 11/13 through 11/26. The intersection at Main and Fourth is scheduled to be closed from 11/27 – 12/10. These are estimated timelines and are subject to change.

11/6/2023: Construction for the Main Street Streetscape project will begin on Monday, November 13, 2023.
At this time, it is anticipated that Fourth Street between Main & River will be closed from 11/13 through 11/26. The intersection at Main and Fourth is scheduled to be closed from 11/27 – 12/10. These are estimated timelines and are subject to change.
